Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM)
T1DM is caused by an autoimmune reaction and results in total destruction of insulin-producing pancreatic beta cells, T1DM is treated with Regentime therapy in 2 ways:
-
by reducing the autoimmune attacks against beta islets,
-
by regenerating beta islets in pancreatic cells.
– Intravenous. Improvements are seen in almost half of the patients after 3-4 months post-transplant; with a decrease in the required daily insulin doses.
– Intra-arterial. Stem cells are injected into the pancreatic artery to substitute the head and the body of the pancreas and injected into the splenic artery to substitute the tail of the pancreas. Improvements are seen in 80% of the patients after 3-4 months post-transplant; with a decrease in the required daily insulin doses.
The procedure takes 3 days, with prices ranging from 25,000 USD to 36,700 USD for both intravenous and intra-arterial routes.
The result of a successful transplant can last for years. The Regentime team is following up with patients who underwent stem cell transplants for 5 years and more.
